To operate the crude distillation apparatus including the ASTM D2892 and Hivac stills and to carry out the day to day maintenance, calibration and trouble shooting.
Blending Crude Fractions for analysis and organising the work requirements in conjunction with the Duty Manager.
Check TBP yields and analytical data for each fraction to ensure that results are compatible with one another (known as balancing the crude) and collate all data for final reporting. Correct balancing of the crude requires a comprehensive understanding of GC data.

Extensive experience in a UKAS17025 laboratory.
Refinery experience within the petro-chemical sector.
Experience of communicating and liaising with clients.
Knowledge of IP, ASTM, BS and other test methods performed in the laboratory.
Ability to work accurately and precisely.
Able to organise work load.
Able to work under own initiative and with a high degree of autonomy & maturity.
Good verbal communication skills.
Computer literate e.g. able to use MS office applications.
Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
Working knowledge of CCLAS LIMS / IRIS.
HNC / HND, or equivalent, in Chemistry.
Chemistry Degree, or equivalent.
